Wonderful Writers!

We are having a huge focus on Writing this term! Everyday we have 15 minutes Silent Writing after lunch, just like we do for Reading after playtime. This time is free choice and is a bit like writing in a diary. The purpose is to just write...whatever! It isn't marked, it isn't pulled to bits, it is writing for pleasure. (Although Ms Betts is still keen to see full stops and capital letters)! Besides the diary writing we have our usual weekly writing tasks each week as part of our Must Do's. Typically there is a recount and narrative to write, proof read and edit. We also have one other piece of writing that we try and get published, this week it is our own Aesop Fable. Publishing is an area that often gets left to the end of the week and does not happen often enough. Today we asked these questions: 1. Why publish our writing? 2. Who do we write for? 3. What ways can we present of writing? So ask your children why they write and watch this space for publishing and presenting our wonderful writing!
